York, PA (June 27, 2024) – The York County History Center (YCHC) is thrilled to announce a special media event at 10 a.m. July 10 to celebrate its new, state-of-the-art headquarters at 121 N. Pershing Ave in downtown York. The media event will start on the third floor with remarks, then move downstairs to begin the tour.
The new History Center boasts 15,000 square feet of dedicated exhibit space, strategically located near the Colonial Complex creating a central downtown York destination for history enthusiasts and tourists. The exciting relocation marks a significant transformation for the History Center Museum and Library & Archives, offering visitors a dynamic and inclusive experience within a vibrant cultural hub.

The York County History Center is committed to showcasing the rich and diverse history of York County. The media event will highlight the center’s efforts to incorporate a variety of perspectives into its exhibits and storytelling, ensuring a more inclusive experience for all visitors.

Public Grand Opening
The public will be able to visit the new York County History Center during the 2024 summer season, with a grand opening event planned for August 2-4.
