Group & School Tours

School Group Main

The York County History Center’s museums offer tours for groups of 10 or more with discounted admission rates. Self-guided visits and docent-guided tours are available by reservation.

History and social studies teachers can bring students in for tours, allowing them to take advantage of a wide variety of programs designed to enrich children’s learning and classroom experiences.

Scout groups, church youth groups and summer campers should also have this as a must-visit destination to learn about York County’s history.

Trained docents and education staff lead groups through History Center sites to explore farming and manufacturing history at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum; colonial history at our Colonial Complex sites; the history of firefighting at the Fire Museum.

What a great field trip we had yesterday to the History Center and Colonial Complex with our 4th- and 5th-grade classes! We got to learn about life in colonial York during the 1700s, see the restored courthouse in which the Articles of Confederation were signed, and tour the new history museum. York, Pa., holds a special role in the United States in terms of its history and its manufacturing!
