Counting down to Fall Oyster Festival

Alpacas and an expanded Kids Corral. A large vendor marketplace. Live music. Maryland crab soup, pulled pork, oysters and cold beer. It’s all at the York County History Center’s Fall Oyster Festival, presented by White Rose Bar & Grill, Sunday, Oct. 18, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Colonial Complex in downtown York.

ALLVETS

ALLVETS

ALLVETS was a non-profit organization, founded in 2015 by the late Jim Bean, a Vietnam veteran, to collect the stories of local veterans. This work was continued by his wife Linda after his death in 2017 until 2025. Their monthly meetings documented hundreds of veterans stories. These video recordings are available in the History Center archives.

While ALLVETS is no longer active, the History Center honors this legacy by continuing to offer opportunities for military veterans to share their story through oral history interviewing and public presentations.
