COVID Update: 11/20/20

November 20, 2020

Since reopening our sites in July the History Center has followed CDC guidelines to maintain a safe, clean space for the public to enjoy and where our volunteers and staff can work. Taking precautions made it possible for us to remain open with no direct COVID exposures at our sites. Out of an abundance of caution due to the current uptick in cases throughout the county and the upcoming holiday season, the History Center has decided to close starting Tuesday, November 24th through January 2nd for the safety and health of our staff members, volunteers, and visitors. The History Center wants to ensure everyone is able to have a safe and socially distant holiday season.

Members will be notified by email with updated information regarding the Members’ Only Open House virtual programming and holiday shopping discount.

If you have ordered pecans or car wash passes through the Friends of York County History Center’s online pre-order, you will be notified when you are able to come to the Historical Society Museum to pick up your order. A few extras were ordered and are available online through the gift shop on our website.

For research inquiries and other questions, please contact our Director of Library & Archives, Nicole Smith or Assistant Director of Library & Archives, Dr. Adam Bentz.
