Yorkfest returns Aug. 30-31

The Yorkfest Fine Arts Festival returns to the York County Rail Trail Aug. 30-31. Yorkfest will feature art exhibitions, a fashion show and an awesome Kids Lane, and artists and vendors will set up along the Rail Trail from Market Street to Princess Street. The Colonial Courthouse will be open for free tours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30. There will be no tours of the other Colonial Complex sites that day.

Celebrate the adoption of the Articles of Confederation with us! Adults and families can participate in hands-on activities that help us understand the place of the Articles of Confederation in American history and learn about York’s Revolutionary past!

 

NEW for this year the Hard Bargains Installation ribbon cutting will take place at 11 am during Articles of Confederation Day! Hard Bargains is a public artwork that shines a light on York’s role at a critical juncture in our nation’s development. Learn more about the installation and concept on their website.

18th Century Market Fair

This year we are excited to introduce a market fair component to our Articles of Confederation! If you or someone you know owns an 18th Century style business and want to apply, our application form is now live! Apply to be a vendor here. If you are accepted as a market fair vendor there is a $50 Vendor Fee.

Calling all 18th Century Reenactors!

The York County History Center is recruiting reenactors and living historians to portray life in the 18th Century during the event. If you are interested in applying please fill out our form linked here.

Applications will be open August 11 through September 19. They will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
