Experience a live performance of York’s only remaining Tannenberg Organ, built here in York in 1804. This priceless artifact is back at the History Center after two years of restoration. Richard Frey returns to play an array of Halloween songs to get you prepared for the spooky holiday. Costumes are encouraged!

About the Organist

 

Richard E. Frey is a native of Bethlehem, PA. He holds degrees from Westminster Choir College, Boston University, and Palmer Theological Seminary. He has served as Minister of Music in Binghamton, NY., Wayne, PA, Ridgewood, NJ, Hanover, Pa (Trinity UCC), and York, Pa (Unitarian/Universalist Congregation of York). He is presently serving at Heidelberg UCC in York, and Zwingli UCC in East Berlin. He has given recitals at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, the West Point Cadet Chapel, and at Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA. He twice accompanied Peter, Paul, and Mary at the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, NJ. He is the composer of 26 published works. He is married to Susan Dotterer Frey, also a graduate of Westminster Choir College. The Frey’s have 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and currently 3 cats and a rabbit!
