Get ready for a musical journey through time! On Friday, June 13, organist Philip T. D. Cooper will breathe life into the historic 1804 David Tannenberg organ.

Prepare to be transported by a captivating program that celebrates the rich musical heritage of central German composers. Cooper will showcase works by legendary musicians such as Johann Pachelbel, Johann Gottfried Walther, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Johann Ludwig Krebs — masters who defined the organ’s golden age.

But wait, there’s more! The evening takes a delightful turn with some lighter fare, including James Hewitt’s playful “The Fourth of July” and select pieces from the Michael Bentz Book. These compositions offer a unique glimpse into the local musical traditions, as Bentz himself was an organist at Christ Lutheran Church who frequently played on this very Tannenberg organ.

Don’t miss this free concert that promises to transport you through centuries of musical brilliance. Space is limited, so we recommend registering in advance. Come and experience a living piece of musical history!
