About the Organist

Anna Smith is in her third year at Shenandoah Conservatory where she studies organ with Dr. Wayne Wold and harp with Ms. Lynnelle Ediger. She recently was accepted into the position of Church Music Intern for the 2025-2026 year at Trinity Episcopal Church in Upperville, Virginia. Previously, Anna served as church organist at Zion United Church of Christ in her hometown of York, Pennsylvania, where she first began studying organ under direction of Mr. Richard Frey. An active member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO), Anna recently joined the D.C. Chapter as a Board member. Through the AGO, Anna has participated in masterclasses with renowned organists Thierry Escaich and Dr. Mary Beth Bennett.
With a goal to bring harp music into communities along the East Coast, Anna is the co-founder of Calypso Harp Duo, alongside harpist Brynn Olden. The duo performs in public spaces such as libraries and churches, holds free concerts that are open to the public, and arranges most of their own music. Anna has also performed alongside former Royal Harpist, Claire Jones, in the launching of her collaborative album, 2K+, and most recently in the launching of the GreenSpring Music Festival in Frederick, Maryland.
An aspiring conductor, Anna is also the Founder and Artistic Director of the Shenandoah Valley String Orchestra, composed of Shenandoah Conservatory’s leading musicians. She currently studies conducting with Maestro Juliano Aniceto, Director of Orchestras at the New England Conservatory Preparatory. Anna performs frequent recitals ranging from solo organ and harp to collaborative concerts throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
