Shippensburg University’s Dr. Allen Dieterich-Ward will give a talk based on his book, Cradle of Conservation An Environmental History of Pennsylvania, which explores the state’s “working landscapes” from William Penn’s famous exhortation to “leave one acre of trees for every five acres cleared” to the ratification of the Environmental Rights Amendment and today’s debates over fracking and the threat of climate change.  Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event.
