History Center Museum
Located at 121 N. Pershing Avenue, the new museum features some of the History Center’s diverse exhibits housed in a building that is itself a historical artifact.
Agricultural & Industrial Museum
Explore York County’s vast contributions to the progress of agricultural and industry at the History Center’s Agricultural & Industrial Museum. The museum highlights over 300 years of transportation and agriculture.
Seasonal Sites
The Golden Plough Tavern, the General Horatio Gates House, the Colonial Courthouse, and the Fire Museum are all located along West Market Street and are open seasonally April through November.
Library & Archives
The Library & Archives, located in the new History Center building on North Pershing, houses an extensive collection, including genealogy and family history, decorative arts, community organizations, and more.

The next Writers’ Roundtable meeting will be December 5 at 7:00 pm. Dr. Peter Levy will present a reading from his historical play “43 Deepgreen Lane” about the experience of the Myers family in Levittown.

For more than 30 years, Peter B. Levy, retired professor of history at York College of Pennsylvania, taught courses on the Civil Rights Movement, Environmental History, and Race and Justice. He has written more than a dozen books, including The Great Uprising: Race Riots in Urban America during the 1960s; Civil War on Race Street: The Civil Rights Movement in Cambridge, Maryland; and The New Left and Labor. Since retiring, he has spent much of his time writing historical dramas for the theater.
