Join the Friends of the York County History Center for an unforgettable journey to one of America’s most significant Civil War sites. Our comfortable Bailey Coach bus departs at 7 a.m. from Weis Markets parking lot (1800 Roosevelt Blvd.) for the scenic two-hour ride to Sharpsburg, Maryland.
Immerse yourself in history with a museum visit and introductory film, followed by an exclusive three-hour guided bus tour of the battlefield led by a licensed National Park Service guide. You’ll walk in the footsteps of history where the bloodiest single day of the Civil War unfolded.
On our return journey, we’ll stop for lunch at Cracker Barrel in Hagerstown, Maryland (meal cost separate), arriving back in York around 5 p.m.
Trip Details:
- Cost: $100 for History Center members, $110 for non-members
- Departure: 7 a.m. from Weis Markets, 1800 Roosevelt Blvd.
- Return: Approximately 5 p.m.
