The York County History Center opened a new building in August that expands our campus and serves as a major cultural anchor and community space in downtown York. Located on North Pershing Avenue, next to the Codorus Creek and one block from Central Market, the York County History Center is excited to open its doors and invite downtown businesses to celebrate the history of York County and increase traffic on Sundays!

What is Sundays In The City?

The Sundays in the City promotion will offer participating businesses a new way to increase traffic on Sundays through partnered discounts, additional marketing efforts, and more. Each participating business will be included in a “Sundays in the City Passport” that will direct customers to explore all the businesses downtown.

Participating in Sundays in the City will help businesses gain access to an expansive network of local visitors and reach neighboring consumer markets.

Additional Marketing and Advertising

Along with the York County History Center, all businesses participating in Sundays in the City will be sharing this promotion on their social media accounts and through other marketing materials. This is a great way to get your shop or restaurant’s name out and reach new audiences.

How Can Your Business Participate?

Partnered Discounts

Your business can offer individual discounts to those who come in on Sundays, or you can create partnered discounts so that customers who show their History Center Museum or Library ticket can receive a special Sundays in the City discount or freebie.

Offer Sunday Hours

Does your business not currently offer Sunday hours, but you still want to participate? Consider opening your doors on Sundays seasonally for Sundays in the City! Running from April to November, this is a great way to attract more customers without the commitment of being open Sundays year round.

Share with Your Current Customers

Share the word of Sundays in the City with your current customers through social media, signage in your store, or promotional emails.
