Mark your calendar for Giving Tuesday: November 28, 2023

#GivingTuesday is based on a simple idea: create a day that encourages people to do good.  Following on the big holiday shopping days of Black Friday, Shop Local Saturday, and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is an opportunity for us to pause, celebrate and support the organizations that work to raise up our communities.

This year, please consider supporting the History Center’s “Buses for Kids” campaign.  Our goal is to raise $5,000 on #Giving Tuesday for our program to help York County schools bring their students to our museums for field trips!

Many, many school children have never been to a museum…any museum! And many school districts, with government funding diminishing, cannot afford to contract buses or pay the admission (even discounted admissions) so that students can have the experience of traveling out of school to visit a museum.

We know that students who are able to connect with subject materials through experiential learning perform better in school. History provides them the ability to reflect upon past events, draw connections to the present, and consider the future.

With your help, the York County History Center can help ensure our students enjoy experiences beyond the classroom that inspire them to learn!
