PA State Capitol & Museum Bus Trip

Mark your calendar for Thursday, April 9 2020 as the Friends of York County History Center hosts a bus trip to the Pennsylvania State Capitol and the State Museum.  The trip begins with at stop at the State Museum. While there, explore how women fared in our state during the suffrage movement with their exhibit: Why Not Pennsylvania? Campaigning for Women’s Suffrage in the Keystone State  and  Picturing a More Perfect Union: Violet Oakley’s Mural Studies for the Pennsylvania State Chamber 1911-1919.  Additionally, the 2020 South Central PA Scholastic Art Awards will also be on display.  Lunch at the Capitol Restaurant,  followed by guided tour of the Capitol.  For questions, please contact Kate at the York County History Center at 717-848-1587 or

The itinerary is as follows:

8:30 am  Meet at West Manchester Town Center (parking near Kohl’s)

9:00 am  Bus departs for Harrisburg

10:00 am Arrival at the PA State Museum- self guided tour

Noon   Lunch in the Capitol Restaurant (cash only, not included in tour price)

1:30 pm  Guided tour of the Capitol

2:30 pm  Depart Harrisburg

3:30 pm Arrival at West Manchester Town Center
