The 50th Annual Oyster Festival will be held downtown at the Colonial Complex, 157 W. Market St., on Pershing Avenue between Market and Philadelphia streets!

We are so excited to announce that plans are underway the 50th Annual Oyster Festival!  The History Center is proud to offer up the traditions and the bounty of the Bay! From the slurp of oysters on the half shell, to the creamy richness of oyster stew, and from the spicy-ness of steamed shrimp to the crispy sweetness of York County apple fritters, this is our way of saying “Hello Fall” and continuing the tradition of this beloved event at the York County History Center.

Free Admission, all food is “pay as you eat”!

Oyster Festival includes traditional seafood offerings as well as yummy, non-seafood items. This year look for the addition of some your favorite local food, beer and wine offerings, and a table of desserts and treats from the Friends of the York County History Center. As always, local music will fill the air, and interactive activities for kids, demos and artisan craftsmen will be on the bill. There is something for everyone!

Want to volunteer for the event?   Use our ivolunteer website to pick your shift and area.  We need volunteers to help with all aspects of the event from set up and food service to clean up!  What a way to support this fundraiser!  We welcome employee teams and service organizations too- contact gnevin@yorkhistorycenter.org  if you want to bring a group of volunteers to help.
