Friends Annual Ice Cream Parlor
On Mother’s Day, during the Olde York Street Fair, moms and families can stop in at the Historical Society Museum at 250 E. Market St. to take a break from browsing. Join the History Center Friends for sundaes, floats, brownies and more available from 12:00 to 5:00.
Visitors can enjoy a sweet treat at the Friends’ Ice Cream Parlor. Sundaes, floats, brownies, coffee and soft pretzels will be on sale to benefit the History Center. The Ice Cream Shoppe will be open from noon – 5 p.m.
The Museum Shop at the Historical Society will also be open, offering unique gifts, jewelry, handbags, and books of local history interest, plus home fragrances and accessories.
After enjoying your sweet treats, head down to the the History Center’s Colonial Complex for tours of the first floors of the Golden Plough Tavern and General Horatio Gates House, with a suggested donation of $2 per person. During your tour learn about the roles of women in the 18th century. The Colonial Courthouse will be open to the public free of charge.
