SUMMARY:From Militia to National Guard
DESCRIPTION:The National Guard of Pennsylvania History Project will be tabling in the lobby of the History Center Museum on July 19. Come see the uniforms\, arms\, and equipment carried by the national guard during it’s early history\, and learn about the companies that called York County home. NGP History Project will have a display of artifacts from the years following the American Civil War up through WW1. The artifacts on display on the 19th are representative of those used by the Pennsylvania National Guard in garrison\, in the field\, as well as aboard ships in the Pennsylvania Naval Militia. \n  \nThis not a presentation\, it is an opportunity to chat and engage with members of the NGP History Project in an informal setting. Additionally this is free and does not include museum admission. \n  \nBRAND NEW in 2025\, the NGP History Project will be assisting visitors with researching family members who may have served in the National Guard from the 1700s up through WW1. Click the link above to print off the intake form to start this research journey.
