SUMMARY:2026 Friends Book Blast
DESCRIPTION:Book Blast returns in June for 2026! The Friends present one of their most popular fundraising events June 4\, 5 and 6 at the Agricultural & Industrial Museum\, 217 W. Princess St. The Friends collect donated\, gently used books throughout the spring and organize thousands of books into one of the community’s biggest used book sales. \nThe schedule for this year’s sale looks like this: \n\n4-7 p.m. Thursday\, June 4 – History Center members only.\n10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday\, June 5\n10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday\, June 6\n\nYou can donate used books for the sale at the Ag & Industrial Museum until May 16. Drop-off hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday or Saturday during the museum’s normal operating hours. \nHistory Center members have first access to the books during the Book Blast opening night Thursday\, June 4. DESCRIPTION:The next Writers’ Roundtable meeting will be 7 p.m. Thursday\, June 4. Peter Miele will present about “Revolutionaries on the River: The Mifflins\, the Wrights\, and the Legacy of the American Revolution.” \nThis program will be in person and available in Zoom. \nIn-person Registration \nZoom Registration \nSusquehanna National Heritage Area Senior Project Leader Peter Miele is leading the development of the Susquehanna Discovery Center & Heritage Park at the historic Mifflin Farm. Most closely associated with the Underground Railroad and the Civil War\, this site and the people who lived there also had an impact on the American Revolution and its aftermath. He will explore the leading families of Wrightsville and Columbia and discuss how they contributed to America’s War for Independence. A great way to begin your celebration of America’s 250th birthday! \n  \n  \n
