July 8 Second Saturday: Border War

Dr. Patrick Spero, based on his recent book Frontier Country: The Politics of War in Early Pennsylvania  will discuss the 1730s fight between Maryland and Pennsylvania  over the border between both  colonies. Spero will highlight  how this conflict encouraged settlement in what is now York County.  Learn how this local episode impacted American historyand proved formative not only for the history of York County but for the development of Pennsylvania in the years preceding the American Revolution.
